Matthew Hemesath received his Master of Fine Arts in Costume Design from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004. Prior to that he did two years of graduate work at The University of Texas at Austin, studying under James Glavan and Susan Tsu. He received a B.A. in Theatre and Art in 2001 from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Recent Designs: The Full Monty, Christmas Inn, Grease (March 2007) at Westchester Broadway, Urinetown at the Yale University Dramat, I Coulda Been a Kennedy at Player's Theatre-NYC, Gypsy at Dows Fine Arts. Works regularly with The Metropolitan Opera, The Today Show on NBC, Paper Mill Playhouse, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. MFA Carnegie Mellon, 2004.

Matthew is originally from Decorah, Iowa and now lives in New York City.
