la boheme
MFA Thesis Project
Carnegie Mellon University
May 2004
La Boheme was the subject of my Master's Thesis at Carnegie Mellon. The scope of the project was to design an unrealized production in all areas of set, costumes and lighting. My approach was to set the production in its original period of the early 1830s in order to root the story to the turmoil of Paul of that time, as well as find beauty in a period of fashion history rarely seen on stage. In a sense, a tribute to the romantic 19th century.
